All About the Engagement Ring
So, she’ll be married soon, a friend quips. She asks how the friend got to know that. Well, it’s simply because of the ring in her ring finger. Rings that are especially made to indicate that the person is about to be married are called engagement rings. Wearing an engagement ring is not just a sign that’s meant to be a tell-all for a person, but a stuff that’s resplendent of culture and tradition as well.
For The Left or For The Right?
In some countries such as the U.S. and the U.K., the engagement ring is traditionally worn on the left ring finger by women only. But in other European countries such as Ukraine and Poland, this ring belongs to the right hand. On the other hand, in Germany, the ring belongs to the left ring finger upon engagement, and when the couple gets married, the ring is moved to the right ring finger. In some cultures, the engagement ring doubles as a wedding ring. In others, the engagement ring is designed with a gouge, on top of which will come the wedding ring once the person is married.
How to Find an Engagement Ring That Fits
With the guys, it’s not a problem, since they’re almost always the ones who get to buy the engagement rings. But the problem is with their female beaus. One tip: try to catch her on a deep sleep. If she’s already got a ring on either of her ring fingers, then here’s one lucky guy – either steal it for the moment or quickly sketch it on paper, then put it back or return it in some fancy manner. Or maybe he could ask some of her close friends or family for tips – they might as well know what her ring finger size is!
